Galaxy S Recovery Mode

I am considering getting a Galaxy S from meteor but I recently found out that some phones cannot get into recovery mode. Does this apply to phones sold in Ireland and more specifically phones from Meteor? Thanks in advance, apc

FWIW I got mine from Meteor about 2 months ago and it can go into recovery or download mode no problem.
