can anyone recommend someone who knows their way around the modern(ish) Renaults - city centre or sth dublin/nth wicklow area preferably.

Either that or suggest an entertaining way I can destroy the f**king thing.

I'm also looking for someone to look at a 00 Clio. Gearbox problems - won't stay in 5th.

    What's the problem(s)?

I'd say just about any half decent mechanic would be able to help you there as similar problems occur in other cars, possibly just a worn linkage.

Scenic II - heating and fan have stopped working for the second time this year (apparently a different problem each time). I've been quoted €500 to fix. Also this year I had to get the handbrake motor replaced which would've cost €1k if I hadn't sourced the part from a breakers - still cost over €400 all in.

I've had 3 Renaults now, and this is the first one that's needed serious work
    - parts seem easy enough to get hold of, but the electronic stuff, and the on-board computer etc are quite specialised, so I was hoping to find a decent independent guy.
