sky+ HD box trouble

I git a pace sky+ hd box about 11 months at this stage. Its starting to stutter on playback and when you select on a channel it can take up to 5 seconds to change. Any ideas? Should I get on to sky for a new box under guarantee or would an update or reset work? Thanks
