Desire - Weird layout on screen during calls?

Out of the blue my phone has started displaying a bunch of options when I'm making a call. It's pretty annoying because the buttons cover up the name of the person calling/who I'm calling, and the End Call button is much smaller. Any idea how to change it back to normal? Thanks
