Despite their ad suggesting otherwise, they do not like male drivers in their 20s in higher performance cars so I have never actually gotten a quote from them...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,455 ✭✭✭positron

They couldn't cover 2l Accord for me - 30s + loads of NCB - apparently it's a high performance car?!!

wouldnt cover me on a 2 litre jap import.

Nononsense= actually quite a lot of nonsense.

In reality they are not as their ad suggests.

They are basically FBD Insurance by a different name, offering reduced premiums by listing as optional extras benefits that would normally be included in a similar FBD policy. Their main aim was to offer cheaper cover minus the extras such as windscreen cover, NCB protection and breakdown assistance, etc.

They wouldn't quote me either. 1.6lt jap. The add is a bit deceiving.

I was 25 when I got first got my policy with them, 2.8 litre BMW and they were the cheapest of anyone. Still with them, mind you the policy hasn't gone down this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 82 ✭✭trackcar

was going to takeout a policy with them earlier this year but got a cheaper quote with 123.ie,
I have a 25 year old brother with a bog standard 1.6 front wheel drive Subaru Impreza, they would not insure, tried a new quote on a 1.6 focus, same value/year no problem, apparently the 1.6 impreza is a sports car.
other brother 31, has been a FBD customer for a few year, got a mad renewal quote in the post, inputted all details on nonsence web site and got a new policy over € 200 cheaper.

Was with AXA and was quoted E500+ for renewal on my 06 Focus CMax.
Got a quote from No Nonsense for E330 for almost the same cover, AXA would come down to E440 but no further, had to wave goodbye to them.
Also, the AXA renewal quote was way up on my previous premium, am 40 and have over 5 years no claims, so why do I get screwed?
And had to get my no claims cert reprinted because I lost it and AXA charged me E25 for the pleasure, not happy.
Previously tried several companies and no nonsense where by far the cheapest.
And what 123 quoted me can only be described as an insult.
Just log on and get screwed for loads.

    *edit:
    Just read earlier posts.
Just goes to show that insurance quotes in this country are completely random and arbitrary.

TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE ! YOU HAVE WORKED HARD FOR YOUR MONEY - THEY WONT WORK HARD FOR YOURS. I have used them and they are absolute rubbish. They will answer the phone if you're placing business with them but if you have a query about your policy, they will not respond to your call - you will be met with a voicemail asking you to leave your number - which they won't phone ! If you contact them by e-mail stating you cannot get through, they will respond to you by telling you to call the number that you haven't been able to get through in the first place. They may be cheap in the short run but they are simply not worth it. I am taking my issue with them up with the Insurance Ombudsman as I can not 'get through' to this company - on any level. Simple message is TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE ! My wife is insured through OneDirect - I will go through them next time.

Nice advertising but Im sorry to say I rang you and got a ridiculous quote of like 4000 when I got insured with britton for 1700, so you should find some better insurers as you aren't competitive.

I got a quote off them when my insurance was up for renewal back in November. They were way more expensive than my renewal quote and their comprehensive cover isn't very comprehensive at all. I ran a mile.

Try Britton instead, I've been with them for three years and find them great.

Been with FBD (No Nosense premium?) for 3 years & they have been good to deal with.

    Love the no nonsense adverts.

Britton? they don't even have the new Volkswagen Scirocco listed as a car. It's been on the market for two years! That's gross incompetence.

their ads annoy the fcuk out of me so would not use them just cos of that. would actually rather pay a bit more elsewhere.
