A friend of mine used to have a cool Rubiks tile thing. The aim was similar, in this case to get all the coloured lines lining lining up the right way. I'm annoyed that I didn't get one in the €2 shop a few months ago when I saw them (was goin somewhere that I couldn't take anything) :(

Did anyone have / still have one of these?

    It is what it's.

The official name was "Rubiks Magic" and it was made by Matchbox (the guys who made the little cars.

They were a lot of fun but amazingly easy to solve. Also the plastic wires that held the thing together would often pop off or get twisted and the thing would be out of action. Basically a very bad design for a toy. I'd imagine there's 1000s of them in attics all over the country with wires tangled to hell..

I remember these- but as bonerm said, they were pretty easy to solve so not exactly in the 'hours of enjoyment' category of games/puzzles.

I like the way it clacked about and the mechanics of it, and the fact I could do it in seconds. It was too easy once you had it figured, then the only game was doing it for time.

DX have a few knockoffs, they are safe to buy from. Lots of other rubiks type puzzles too, like the sort of snake one.
