I have the Boardman. Having ridden a Saracen mountain bike for the previous 14 years on my commute (and been very happy with it) getting the hybrid was a revelation. It is light and quick. The components appear up there with my previous groupset on the Saracen. Ride on nice roads is great and smooth. riding on less manicured roads can rattle the teeth a bit. Steering is easy. disk brakes don't feel so controllable as my old v-brakes but do appear to brake better in the wet. Gear changes are smooth. ratios on front outer ring mean that I have been able to tackle most things at a reasonable cadence without having to shift to the inner ring at all. Seat isn't the most comfortable but I haven't developed the necessary mileage callouses to see whether that is due to the design itself or my namby pamby glutes.
Nice bike! Surprisingly nice. Have kept the Saracen for the odd foray into real off road stuff since I wouldn't want to sling the Boardman over anything worse than a canal towpath.
I am 5'10" and the medium frame suits me.
Hope this feeds into your decision making.

    Hi Dave,

That info is a great help, cheers.

If anyone else that's familiar with the components on these 2 bikes can tell me if the boardman is worth the extra 200 that be great.

Leaning towards the boardman now, thangs again Dave.
