Grouped Amp v Wideband Amp

Is there much benefit to a grouped masthead amp versus a wideband masthead amp? I've a wideband one I could recycle, but if the grouped aerial advantage is repeated in the masthead amp, I'll invest.

I'll be trying for Preseli from the Wicklow Mountains, so it would be a group B amp to go with the group B aerial.

If the wideband amp is a decent fully screened one, I'd be happy with that.

You just want to make sure you amplify more signal than interference.

Depends how strong other neighbouring groups are.

For example, it could mean having RTE on UHF overloading the wideband amp, if RTE is on UHF on a different group.

Depends on the circumstances and aerial arrays in place.

As you already have the wideband amp, sure no harm trying before buying a grouped one.
