    HID's & Xenon
    Whats the difference ?

Can Xenons be put in a car without any mods ?
If not is there any bulbs that give a more blueish white light than regular bulbs?

no difference as far as i know. i have xenon dip and heads in my two cars and they are fantastic and both cars have passed nct as im still using the OE headlight lenses.

they operate on high voltge AC so they come with 'balasts' which convert the 12v dc to suit them. these balasts need to be mounted in engine compartment close to the headlights and whatever you do dont damage the high tension cables coming from them (there is at least 20,000 volts in there when they are on) it is advisable to wire them up with relays directly to the car battery, ie. the original wiring controls the relays only. they do use less power than traditional halogen bulbs but they have quite a high spike in current usage on warmup.

Xenons actually draw less power than halogen bulbs, but require a very stable power supply thats the reason for the ballasts. They do require around 20,000 volts to ignite the xenon gas this is where the igniter comes in.

HIDs in projector lenses are fine,HIDs in reflector lenses are chav tastic and annoying.

Factory fitted xenons will come with self leveling and headlight washers.

i have had them for years in two cars and never had anyone complain about them. only reaction i ever got was "theres great light outa that"
i did have the headlights properly focused after fitting them so maybe that has something to do with it. even on new cars headlight alignment CAN be out a little. both cars have passed the NCT twice in two different test centres so they cant be that bad. i also have the pure white ones and not the blue ones i think your talking about.

your right about projector lenses, much better at focusing the light on the road but only OE stuff, in my experience aftermarket projector lenses are not great.

I had Osram nightbreakers in my Impreza. They were that good I rarely ever had to use my full beams on pitch black back roads.

there does seem to be a huge difference in the level of light you can get from different brands of halogen bulbs, as much as 40% ive heard.
