Blue Light / Lights to aid health?

I have been reading about the affects of using "blue light" / "light boxes" or artificial sunlight, to improve your general health and mental wellbeing.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these, or any information on the subject? I recently read that some Nordic countries have increased Lux in their lights during dark months to improve peoples general mood and avoid Vitamin D deficiencies, interesting.

There is good evidence to support the use of lightboxes in those who spend a prolonged periods away from natural light, ie. sitting in a desk in a windowless office.
No substitution really for natural light.
