    I wonder why so many companies are deciding to open up in the North?

    I know they can pay less, but you would imagine they would find it hard to get staff. Also the tax treatment (The main reason IT is doing so well in the South) is far less appealing.

    Am I missing something?

    Low rates and very good tax incentives along with young educated workforce at competitive rates.

    Northern Ireland is a special economic zone.

    Ah right, I assumed that it was the same tax as the rest of the UK. That makes sense then
