Search the inerweb for CFTC proceedings and a RICO filing against HSBC and JPM for market manipulation in Silver. Apparently, JPM inherited a huge short position in Silver from Bear Stearns.

With these pending, the big guys ain't going to force it down too easily.

found a site where you can buy silver and they hold it in the vault. You can sell whenever you want. You don't have to pay VAT, which you do if you purchase to physically hold yourself and there is little or no spread. There are fees to purchase and fees for storage.

If you sign up, you can get either a free gram of gold or an ounce of silver. You can sell that straight away.

You must send funds by bank transfer and they refund same way to same bank. You will be charged for them sending money to you.

There is no VAT or duty on silver coins that are legal tender in Ireland.

I wouldn't use any of the metal storage schemes. Buy Silver Eagles on ebay and stick them in a safe. At least you know where they are.

    Edit: I stand corrected

plus theres around €50/75 premium over spot price on these 1kg coins, factor in VAT, factor in storage (that might be free under the bed, in the attic or in a shed), then factor in carriage to you. When you are selling, you need to pay carriage to wherever you will be selling, if to AIG, then you cannot be paid until they are in physical possession. There may also be a premium on the sale. I carefully studied all the methods, to include buying antique silver at close to spot price, but you cannot get away from the hassle of physical storage and transport to and from sale as well as the high premiums over spot price.

Beware though, it might be a bubble!

To Roadkillts - there is a referral scheme clearly in the website. There is a remuneration to the referrer. I thought that since I was mentioning them, I might as add link as referrer.

You could also invest in silver stocks if you're not happy about buying physical. Silver Wheaton are up over 10% this week.

I expect this stock to double in the next 6-12 months.
