Just wondering if Top Gear live is likely to sell out this year. Was thinking of going and bringing the young fella but tickets are pricey enough.

focus seems to have shifted a bit this year though, lots more cars on display than previous and plenty of time to wander around amongst them

Top Gear sold out about 3 years ago :-(
See James May's recent comments about it being a sitcom.
I used to be an addict, now I wouldn't watch if it were being performed live in my own home, kinda like f1

I wouldnt go near it. I went in 08 and I thought I was right cool getting the premium ticket for 100 euro that included brekkie...:rolleyes:

Brekkie me hole we got a cold roll the size of me finger and 1 burnt rasher inside it with a cold mug of tea. There was me thinking I would be sharing my beans with Clarkson and Hammond..:o

    Went last year.

Booked online and paid 105EUR or there abouts as it was the cheapest available on ticketmaster website.

Got to the event and they were selling lower grade tickets from 65EUR at the door :mad::mad::mad::mad:

It was entertaining but not worth 105EUR.

My advice - chance going along one day and paying in at the door if they price is reasonable. I wouldn't pay big bucks for it thou

I'm a bit biased because I do some blogging for them but I think this year's festival is set to be a completely different experience. The huge new venue means loads of extra attractions. I'm particularly keen to see the Top Gear Sprint Festival on the track the Mondello people are constructing.
The Top Gear Live bit with the three boys is just one element in what is a huge motoring festival.

I went last year thanks to Today FM, got an overnight in The Burlington aswell!

In my opinion i wouldn't have paid for the tickets, but that said was very enjoyable, but it's taking the same roll as the Autumn Internationals, ie There the matches every year, so the thrill goes from them.

Thinking of buying tickets on the day at the door.
I hear there may be deals available at the last minute if not sold out??

Just noticed on my tickets that it says "Parital Viewing Restrictions" for the theatre show >_< Hope that doesn't mean I've got a bloody pillar in my way.

Word of warning to anyone thinking of going - avoid at all costs it's a pathetic excuse of a show this year. I went with a mate on free tickets and we were both still miffed that we had wasted 3 hours of our time at it.

Genuinely not one amusing moment, not one impressive stunt, it's the sort of thing they were barely able to get away with a few years ago but these days people have a lot more appreciation for their hard earned.

If I had spent €100 odd I'd be raging.

That what happens when you get free tickets, you dont appreciate them.

I went with the young fella and had a great time between the show and the exhibition and the outside track and bars. The show was good and looking forward already to next years one.
Its far from sold out and you can buy tickets in there. If you dont want to watch the top gear show then you can still walk in and see the cars expo and the events on the outside tracks as its only for the show itself that you need a ticket for.
Overall, a great day had with some free finger food thrown in :)

From what i could see there arnt any pillers in the way. The partial viewing is maybe that you are in the middle or upper level at the sides and may not see anything that may be right below you. There is a big screen and also you could move to the front of your block if it isnt full which tonights wasnt. You should be grand so dont worry.
