    Folks,
I have a HTC Hero running android 2.1 (i think..)
anyway, as i sit at a computer alot does anyone know if there is a cradle available that i can connect through say usb with corresponding software that will allow me to manage my text messages through some sort of pop up window? would be alot handier to type and send messages using my keyboard as opposed to picking my phone up every time i need to read/send...

This is an excellent app for your PC and allows you to create groups etc (kudos to the guy that created it)

Much better than using the phone and it was created by an Irish guy so will work with Irish networks out of the box.

Just ignore the mobile version on that page, you want the desktop version. You dont have to worry about buying a cradle then.

    http://code.google.com/p/android-notifier/ - Android Notifier.
Allows the popping up of text messages on your screen when yea receive them. Doesn't allow for responding via your desktop yet

true, i wasnt thinking about the quick reading of messages but that app that kerbdog mentioned looks promising

ok guys, cheers for the replies, after some searching i found the following:

i could use this for reading them by pop up and then reply via cabbage until such time as all my webtexts are used up ;)
