What has Audi got going on in Ireland next year?

Audi Ireland has just announced its line-up and offers for 2011. Should I care?

Yes, because lots of new standard kit is offered. For a start you get on the A3 the option of an S Line exterior pack and 17-inch S Line wheels as a complimentary upgrade.

On the A3 Sportback there's a complimentary panoramic sunroof on the A3 SE and Sport versions.

The A4 gets an S Line exterior pack and 18-inch S Line wheels for €750 on the SE/Sport versions, which is a customer saving of €4,175.

And TT customers can order the Black and White Pack for €2,475 - a saving of €3,375.

    Any other models?

Yes, you can get a new entry-level version of the A5 Sportback. The 2.0-litre TDI with 143hp costs from €39,860. SE versions now get Milano leather and 18-inch wheel upgrade for 2011 at no extra cost.

The A6 is on a run out, any special offers?

The kitchen sink is being thrown at the last of the Audi A6 models. All get Milano leather and 18-inch alloys and the Innovation Package with 3G Navigation, Bose surround sound, Bluetooth phone preparation, colour driver information system and iPod integration is an option.

    Any new engines?

Two more 2.0 TDI versions with 143- and 170 horsepower outputs are added to the Q5 range from September 2010 production. Emissions have been reduced dropping the Q5 into a lower tax band. The 2.0 TDI 143 Q5 now starts at €43,150 on-the-road. SE versions for 2011 get the addition of Bluetooth and Colour Driver information system whilst the package price has been reduced to €2,500 above standard versions.

Even though they've frozen the pricing for 2011 at 2010 rates, they have reduced the dealers margin, so cars are actually going to cost more than they were.

The S-Line offering on the A4 isn't as good as the 2010 offer of the Interior & Exterior pack. I now look forward to loads of 120 base model A4's with big wheels

There is a price decrease on the A6 2.0Tdi 170bhp to bring it in line with the 5 Series, and the Leather is a needed addition to a car that size - but it's still going to struggle against the 5 Series until the new model hits. Only thing in it's favour will be availability, but it will be a case of take what you can get because they have either stopped building, or will be stopping shortly.

You have to laugh that people pay good money to ruin the ride of their Audi with the S-line, does it come with a chiropractor package?
