Well An post have changed over to the Ras. In the past the TOI was on the UCI calender a good few times even when no race eventually took place. So I'd say if it's not on the calendar now it will definitely not take place :(

The roads are a bit crap though. Would be lovely to have an official Tour route properly maintained to Euro standards.

Not going to happen in the current circumstances though.

Jeepers it's bad enough that cyclists have to conform to Euro rules, now you're saying roads have to also!

Hard shoulders must be trimmed at all times and grass p the centre must be of correct shade of green. All white markings must be bright white to contrast correctly against dark Asphalt.

    and as for road signs.......

Yeah lets not rite it off just yet..... but its such a shame as Im sure Caroline will agree that this had the potential to be great , granted we did struggle a little in 2009 due to cutbacks and short staffing but without doubt the previous 2008 and 2nd edition of the race was a complete success and its just a shame we werent able to build on that success in 2009 and this year ................

But hey it was good while it lasted and I for one was proud to be part of it.

Have u ridden the ras? U really think it's got better in last few years for the average county rider? Can a guy working here ever have a chance to win a stage etc?

Toi had a scary moment in it's first year back iirc. Wasn't main bunch neutralised on way to merrion square???

Wonder if it could have been kept going on a smaller budget? Like did much money need to be spent on any appearance money etc? Biker boy can u fill me in???

Ps wasn't there people on boards a few months back speculating on the demise of the ras wit talk of Fbd being less involved???? .... The difference between ras and the toi ....... ;-)

Wasn't that because the break was about to catch the bunch on the finishing circuit? They neutralised the bunch and allowed the break pass or something like that?

Yes, they allowed the break to pass the bunch on the circuit.
