Decent restaurant on the N7

I'm travelling up and down from Dublin every weekend, would love to find somewhere decent along the way (or not too far from the N7) to stop off for dinner. Anyone have any recommendations (other than the Midway, Rackett Hall or McDonalds)?

Not quite a restaurant, but there is a kebab place in Mountrath, coming from the Limerick side on the left at the edge of the town. He always makes me a very good kebab.

There's a place just off the M7 at Portlaoise .... is it Midway or something???
It's a motorway-style place - with various types of food (Subway, Breakfat place etc.) ... and 1 communal eating area.

Was gonna post this....always handy when I'm burstin for a pee on the way down And if you stop here you can avoid the toll!

Leave the motorway at Newbridge. Town Centre is only 5 minutes from Motorway. Head to the Whitewater shopping Centre. There is a Gourmet Burger Kitchen there which do great burgers(you guessed it).

Nice BIG Onion rings. Stacked burgers(which you can double - but dont)

They are doing a €9.95 special of BIG burger, chips and a drink.

Is this in the shopping centre? I find the Whitewater a kip for food...i've never had anything very nice with all the places there.:(

There is a lot in the building but GBK is down the side of it between the building and the Multistorey. Ground Floor.

Have you eaten everything in the S/C? They have KFC, McDonalds, Sbarro, Obriens, Costa, some local owned greasy spoon and one or two others. Thats a lot of bad food.

I've tried KFC, McDonalds and Sbarro - obriens somewhere else, not Costa.
KFC And Mcd's - just sick of them
Sbarro- very unimpressed with their food and not exactly cheap for what you get.
O'briens- 5-6 euro for a sambo - i dont think so....

You know. Sbarro is run by a good Limerick man. The same guys who operates Combat Zone in Shanagolden.

He was looking at a site, paid deposit as well, for a unit in the Parkway Valley Shopping Centre.(The place on the Dublin road with the cranes ) but had to give up and move to Newbridge for a site.

I was eyeballing the Pizza there the other day. It looked very nice.
