American Spirit claim to have no additives. They may be what you are looking for.

Just because they have no additives doesn't mean they have no chemicals.

I saw cigarettes a few years ago in a health shop that contained no tar and no nicotine. Don't remember the brand name though.

Sure everything is made from chemicals. :)

It was clear from the OP's post what they were angling at - advice on the most 'natural' cigarettes available.

OP - Do a Google on American Spirit & decide for yourself. Also check out this thread.

But do any cigs contain tar? Or is it just produced by inefficiently burning them when smoking?

We seem to be working under the assumption that pure tobacco = good and all additives = bad. Is that really so?

If pure tobacco IS the panacia the OP is looking for then go for hand rolled cigars where the only additave is a little gum (guar or tragacanth - natural products).

I'm older than Minecraft goats.

American spirit, as above.

I think Dunhill International cigs also claim to be additive free, on the box.

And here in Holland, Camel have introduced an additive free cigarette, Camel Natural Flavour. I don't know if you guys have it there yet.

I've had the Camel version here in Switzerland. Not bad at all.

you can get them in specialist tobacconists
but not in the likes of tesco or any pertol station
the only downside is they are €20 for a pouch

i got mine online about 3-4 weeks ago for €51 plus €19 P&P
at http://www.e-tobaccos.com/buy-cigars/
they also to a boards.ie user 5% discount too

or you could buy silk cut silver/ultra :D
but they're like smoking fresh air

for a lot of people its not the nicotine
subconsciously it's mainly just having something in your hand !!!

any way i know the cigarettes in question they were almost as expensive as normal cigarettes except the mail ingredient if i remember correctly was basil leaves :D

but these ones are way better and cheaper
i found a pack in a ''hippy'' shop ( incense, Buddha statues, throws, cheap jewelery, that kind of stuff ) in New Zealand and they're made in india they're called NIRDOSH

Nirdosh contains:
· Basil
· Clove
· Liquorice
· Turmeric
· Gangal
· Indian Cinnamon
· Bishops Weed
· Indian Bedellium
wrapped in

· Tendu leaf

they were nice and really cheap too i think about 4NZD for 10 they gave the nice aroma of good 'ol Mary Jane

when talking about tar in cigarettes it's not the same tar that is osed on the roads
tar is basically just the residue left in the filter and its the stuff that stains teeth and fingers
and it is produced like you said from the burning of the tobacco and all the additives preservatives that you find in cigarettes

Smoking is beautiful at differing times, or so we elude ourselves, I started smoking at 7 years of age and only finally gave up 4 years ago, 40 years of inhaling the beloved nectar, associating it with various emotions, look at your kids, nephews, nieces and ask youself is it worth it? Will I be here in 20 years to see their kids, your grand kids? Don't be selfish be there for them, be their point of reference, let them know who they are, (from the hoses mouth) YOU.
You are their past!!! Be there for them - It's your responsibility
