Straight forward job. ( IF NO ISSUES ARE FOUND)
Labour around 1/2 day... but make sure the plumber drains the system and the refills with inhibitor.
I would sugest that if it is a oldish system get the plumber to put in cleanser then drain the system.

Some plumbers may have a freezing kit that will freeze pipes at radiator and will mean the system will not need draining.

You might also consider fitting a TRV on the radiator at the same time.

Buy the radiator, radiator valves (or TRV), inhibitor and cleanser yourself (but get advise on the size of rad from plumber or supplier).
This way you will know the actual labour cost... some plumbers inflate materials prices.

Seems fairly fare price. €200 pd (€25 ph) + 13.5% VAT is what most trades come in at in the recession. You might get it down by €20 but that's about it. You could always haggle.

I was quoted yesterday €160 to replace my house bathroom radiator for a new one. (labour and radiator provided)

The old one is around 10 years old and for some reason is all rusty underneath and it's leaking a bit. The radiator is pretty small, 540x530mm.

    Is that a reasonably price?

I have a handyman in at present who is plastering the front room and also going to put insulated plasterboard on the front wall. There is a radiator on the side wall close to the front wall, but it will need to be moved just a few inches, as the gap between radiator pipe and front wall doesn't leave enough room for insulated plaster board.

    Two questions,
The handyman says he can move the rad, that its an easy job, but that once it is moved I would need to get a plumber in .....something to do with the water supply to the rad, and which valve connects it to the boiler....

Does this make sense? Or should I have a plumber do the whole job.

Also, what sort of cost I would I be looking at either for a plumber to dothe whole job, or the bit at the end....
