My girlfriend is buying a car from rightprice cars and because they only give a 3mth warranty I advised her to get it inspected first

AA will do it for a small sum of 330 plus VAT - RIP Off Ireland is alive and well

Anyone else know someone that does these type inspections

    Its for a 2007 Corsa

if you dont know any mechanics
then 330 is not a bad price...

you are willing to spend around €7k ( give or take a price for a 07 corsa)
but not willing to spend 330 tomake sure it is in good order....

I got one done for 99 euro. Carcheck.ie or something. On the Naas road. I will see if I can find the name

€300 odd is looney but the AA know that the folks who get these checks done are not too clued up with cars so they have f all choice really. Quick spin to a mechanic you know might be an option, a decent mechanic could give a car a very good look over in 30 mins, less really.

No, it's a horrendous price, imagine paying that 3 or 4 times before you find the right car  their hourly rate is astronomical, that's little more than a couple of hours work, a main dealer would probably check a car for less.

OP - If you're going to do an inspection then why not buy privately? It's cheaper, safer, and easier IMO.

That's a good call but small cars are pretty hard to find these days and her heart is set on the corsa
