Transferring to DCU Multimedia at this stage?

Im an Irish student who did the 2010 LC but I ended up going to London to study practical media, thinking it was the best choice for me. But I hate it here, and Ive hated it since day 1. It hasnt got any better.
I feel really depressed and unmotivated to do any work here. I got my first choice of Multimedia in DCU but didnt take it thinking it wouldnt be right for me.

I emailed Dr. Miriam Judge yesterday requesting if she would consider me moving in to Multimedia. But she hasnt replied yet.

What do you guys know of Irish colleges accepting transfers? Have you had any experience? Technically it hasnt even been 2 months? Or is it very rigid and all through the CAO? That seems unfair.

I give anything just to be able to go back home to study.

Thanks in advance for any help smile.gif

A friend of mine transferred to DCU from DBS a few years ago, so they do accept transfers at least in some cases. He did it at the start of second year though, not sure if they allow it during the year. I'd say keep pestering the head of school until you get an answer either way.

Well the date for internal course transfers or dropouts to maintain your "free fees" (lol) status was 31st of October so you might be pushing it to be honest. I believe MM students already have their first set of assignments due after reading week (this week) as well.

Do you mind me asking, if you didn't think multimedia was right for you before, why have you changed your mind? You still might not like it.
How is what your doing now any different?
Im a second year, and it can be a fairly technical course in parts.

because i thought this course in london was going to be majorly practical. but we havent done anything practical so far. and i hate london. i want to go home.
i thought because it was a BSc that I would need science and that it would be more computer science based. haveing researched it now, i dont think thats the case.
im just hoping that seeing as i was given the place, Dr. Judge might allow me to come back.
do you know her at all? do you think there's a possibility?

Way too late for an external transfer now, even internal transfer is a bit late AFAIK.
