Why is the Sheamus £25 double the price of most of the other ones, bit steep for an action figure,no?

Yeah I thought the price is a bit steep, might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere, I only did a quick Google search to be honest.

The only reason I can think of why it's double the price, is because maybe it's not officially for sale in UK and Ireland markets yet, and the website imported them from USA so had to pay for shipping costs. Other than that, no idea why.

But at least it's UK based website, so Kent's 7 year old would get it in plenty of time before xmas.

    Thanks a mil, Charisteas:D
Ordered both and will have one happy child come Christmas morning.

Sheamus is a bit more expensive alright, probably a marketing ploy, rare=more valuable:rolleyes:

It's not, because if that was the case, all of the set would cost that amount.

They're up here based in N.Ireland, and I would recommend them- the service is fantastic. However that price for Sheamus is completely disgusting, and clearly a cheap ploy based on the assumption tons of people here will go for him being the "local" star. It's only a basic figure FFS! Even the collector's legends and entrance greats series are cheaper.

Sheamus is more expensive because, i believe, that's his debut figure, and it will be tore off shelves by everyone.

It's not a new strategy. Everyone wants Sheamus, so you have to pay more for him. They'll make back their money on the Sheamus' that they sell, for all the 'shelf warmer' figures that they don't. (ie; a Sheamus or Cena will fly off the shelf, a figure of Regal is likely to stay put for quite some time).

It's always been like that. They do it one the "one per case" figures too (figures are packed in boxes of 12, usually with 6 figures in a set, but if there's, say, a Cena figure and a Melina figure in the pack, they'll often reduce the numbers of Melina in the case, as they know she wont sell that well, so they'll bump up the number of Cena figures).

The problem here is that online stores know that this will make it more difficult to find the Melina figure, and therefore can bump up their price, knowing that collectors will pay it anyway.

My problem with this is that Sheamus is not a limited figure, not rare, and not, in all likelihood, packed less per case. It's just a regular basic figure, that if sold in the stores, will cost exactly the same. Essentially, it's taking advantage of the fact that actual uk retails are limited in general, and don't carry certain ranges.

I maintain it's pretty cynical and shameful bumping the price up to such a crazy degree... we're talking three times the price before it's even released.
He's also got an elite figure coming out, if anyone would rather hold out for that. What are they going to charge for that though?

The sort of rubber-limbed figures they first had in Smyths when i was young about 12-13 years ago were way better than the ones that barely move these days IMO!

had a quick google, this type! the road dogg in the front in the white dx shirt was one of the first figures i owned, along with the stone cold one below, remember how hard it was to first get an austin figure in the attitude era!

But in fairness, he will be a rare figure. At least until he gets released a few times. If you can go into Smyths and pick him up off the shelf, then fair play to you, but I would take a guess that if you wander down to smyths now, unless they've just packed the shelves out, he will not be anywhere to be seen.

I don't think WrestlingWorld are the only ones to jack up the price on Sheamus. Most, if not all, online retailers will do it.
