    Hi All,

i have a problem with a local farmer, basically he brought in diggers on his own land and did a big clearance of hedges and so on, from this on water flowed straight out of the hedges and gateways, i don't know why only it has only happened since he did this work.

I brought it to his attention and he brought in more diggers and ripped up all along the front of the house put in drainage pipes and stores (looks terrible) but this is now not working again and my garden is flooded, i have contacted him about it and he says he will have a look, but in the meantime my house id been distroyed.

So basically short of pulling my hair out any further what is my next step.

    Thanks,
    Mick

    Brilliantly unhelpful.

You need to go to a solicitor as soon as possible. Occupiers of land are liable in damages for actions like this which affect adjoining property.

Mary Hairy........why are you reading these threads if you want to try and help people in such a manner.

Thank you Reloc8, i have not contacted a soliciter as of yet as I wanted to keep things on a freindly level, but freinds told me this is an "act of god" and as such i have no come back against the landowner.

Well if your friends are solicitors maybe they know what they're talking about :D

If not...go to a solicitor - good luck with it.

You are asking for legal advice which cannot be given. If you have a phone, use it to call a solicitor.
