Hi everyone. My other half is looking to buy a car and has been offered a 98D Nissan Micra with 34,000 on the clock and it's NCT'd til 3/12. Went for a test drive today and the car is in a very good condition with one previous (old lady) owner. Is €1000 euro a fair price? The seller is adamant that they won't budge on the price but they're genuine in every other respect as i know them through a friend. Is it good value?

I bought my 5 door 98 C micra a few months ago for 850, lot more miles than the one your looking at and has a few small issues, if it's in very ggod condition then 1K is a fair enough price, but if all you want is a runaround you could hold out and get one a lot cheaper, but a little older

I'd say you couldn't go too far wrong with that. Micra is dull as ditchwater but reliable and almost a year and a half NCT is as good as you're getting with a car that old.

Just make sure it has been serviced regularly enough in case the old dear has knackered the gears/clutch. I've seen the traffic chaos that combination of car and driver causes sometimes :D.

€1k is an ok price for the unit....

34,000 miles is very little and would be a concern to me...

thats only 3,000 miles a year.... not enough to give it a good work out..

It would need to have a perfect service history for me..

It's probably 34000 miles of shop runs too. No time for the engine to warm up.
