Kids that go "missing" but have really been killed by one of their parents

Hi all,

No this is not the name of a new TV3 programme!

I'm trying to find out if there's been a parent or parents that have made an appeal on TV for the safe return of their "kidnapped" child when in fact they themselves have killed their kid but just made it look like their child has been kidnapped.

I'm sure that there must have been cases such as these in Britain, Australia or America and that there might even be interviews on youtube seeking the safe return of their kids.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of any names if they know of such cases?

There was definitely a program on this before. I remember it centred on the "parent reaction" stuff. I remember one father was considered a suspect because in the TV appeal he got very upset. People thought he was hamming it up, but he was just very upset (understandable).

It's ringing bells anyway, I'll do a search and see if I can find it.

I remember watching a program about Jon Benét Ramsey and so read up on it. It really does seem the parents weren't responsible at all and the cops didn't bother looking for actual suspects.

It wasn't her mother, it was her Uncle who the mother had persuaded to get involved in the hopes of a Maddie type fund being set up, they did it for the money. Scum.

People are really dying for the McCanns to be guilty - bit of drama I suppose, who cares whose life it ruins? Shur that kind of public baying for blood only helped land Lindy Chamberlain in jail for four years for murdering her baby girl, when she didn't.

I hope that disgusting creature 'mother' is haunted with memories of those 2 kids for the rest of her days. She should be sterilised.

if I left my babies alone in an apartment with unlocked doors and if any
of them were taken I'd kill myself with the guilt.

Mod - please don't lock the thread, just delete any comments that are out of order - I have a presentation this weekend in college and, even though I googled this for a couple of days, I couldn't find any relevant material... So I thought that a quick ask on here might give me better results.

To make it clear to folks... the person who made the TV appeal must also be the eprson that killed their child and this HAS to have been proved by a court so please no slanderous accusations about folks who have not been convicted.

Look at the 2 links on post 12 for more info on Susan smith, it was in America. She drove her can in to the river and drowned her 2 toddlers, she made a tv appeal for them saying they were car jacked by a black man who kidnapped the kids. As far as i know she is still in prison for their murder.

I could not watch the whole of the you tube clip, too sad.
