    When downloading a few extra apps last night, I got a message saying that internal memory was nearly full.

    IS there a way to start saving apps to the SD card on the phone?

    im on android 2.1. Doing a bit more looking around, there is an updated version, 2.2 (froyo?).

    Can i put this onto my phone, or is there any point? how would you do this?

    using a HTC hero

    app2sd only works with firmware 2.2 froyo, if you have that, you can install app2sd from the market and will detect all your app that can move to the sd.

    try updating your phone from Settings - about phone - system software updates

    Moving apps to SD card is only available on 2.2 or by rooting your device.

    2.2 is not yet available for the HTC Hero.
