IPod nano and docks

Hi,

A younger member of the family has requested a nano from Santy this year. Just want to check, should the new version work with any iPod speaker dock system, I.e. Charge correctly and so on?

It will fit into any speaker dock because it comes with a speaker dock adapter. Most dock devices come with adapters for older iPods but newer iPods come with their own white adapters which means they will fit into devices designed before that iPod model was launched.

Whether the nano will charge or not depends on whether the dock device that you buy has the 'Made for iPod' logo, this is typically visible on the carton and sometimes on a sticker on the device itself, do not accept the word of the sales guy, if it isn't printed on the outside of the packaging the device probably will not charge the iPod. If it's one of the better brands like Logitech, Philips, Sony etc. then you'll have nothing to worry about but look for the logo to be sure.
