Replacement Xenon light. Need advice

I popped into the local Citroen garage here in Switzerland, to be told that to replace my Xenon headlamp (2003 Citroen C5) was going to cost 368 swiss francs, 268 for the part, and 100 labour, around 270 Euros.

So my plan is to source this elsewhere, and replace it myself.

    So questions are:
    • Is there a good place to source these lights online?
    • What info do I need to supply to make 100% sure I get the right bulb. i.e. is make/model/year sufficient, or will I need chassis number.
    • I had a look and am not sure how easy/difficult it is going to do it myself.. has anyone experience on this?

What part of Switzerland are you in? Would you not pop across the border into France and get it swapped there, its a French car so it might be cheaper or else just pick up the part there and swap it yourself..

Cheers ToxicPaddy, I am actually on that case now. thankfully I live on the border of both France and Germany, so will have both options.

Op.. not sure if you meant headlamp or bulbs !

It is recommended to change both headlight bulbs at the same time as chances are one will be brighter or a different rated lumens . I had a similar problem with a Opel omega in Ireland. Quoted 600 for 2 bulbs. I got the 2 bulbs on the internet from a UK based bulb company for €68 euro and fitted them myself in about an hour . They recommend you disconnect the battery because of the high voltage but I had no problems .

I'll see if I can find the name of the company and post later.
