Vista + Firefox = sluggish

Would anyone have any ideas for an issue where in vista (I know) firefox uses up to 240MB memory with just 2 tabs open (in this case boards homepage and one other boards page) ? ? Since the most recent firefox update it has been getting progressively slower and less responsive - so any ideas to improve it would be…

Unfortunately it's too much hassle to put XP on to this - and I'd prefer to keep firefox over IE or chrome.

Thanks for that - I dicked around with firefox extensions last night and it seemed to improve. Will go through your link later.
