Please recomend me an economical smallish car for 3-4k
was thinking along the lines of a Smart as they look good wraped for advertising purposes (killing two birds with one stone)
    what else should i consider?
This will be a second car by the way.

You'll find it hard to find a good Smart in Ireland, they're quite rare. If you avoid the dreaded Polo and Golf (plus derivatives such as the 1-1.4l Fabia, A2, Leon, Ibiza, Octavia etc) you won't go far wrong.

    Yaris ftw.

What's wrong with the polos and golfs?

Other quirky small cars: Nissan Figaro. :P

Quirky all right, but not for 4K.

It's got no picture and there aren't many around at the price you want but this should do ya:http://www.carzone.ie/search/Toyota/Yaris/D4D-LUNA/201044200071616/advert?channel=CARS
Ultra reliable and 3.4L/100k per tank. Cant go wrong!

Or why not buy something that's fun as well as little, like a 106 GTi:

    A nice 04/05 Civic Hybrid?

    Hmmm,
Cant see a hybrid civic for that money.
Panda wont cut it im afraid.
The 106 is a nice car, but not realy an eco car, plus it has a bit of an image if you know what i mean.
Whats dreaded about a polo golf btw? i dont get it.

    Any other ideas?
