hey all, i've been to the UFC when it was in Dublin and also the last Cage Contenders in Tallaght.

I thoroughly enjoyed both events and was very impressed with Cage Contender particularly, in terms of the large crowd there, the production and the great fights.

So far, this is the only local mma show I've been to but I see threads for other shows all the time so what I wanted to know is:

How does Cage Contender compare with the other shows in terms of attendance, production, fights? What are the top 3 or 4 shows in Ireland that are really worth going to?

Do all shows have reasonably good fights and reasonably big crowds?

Good match making helps a lot, but no one knows how good the fights are going to be, It's MMA after all and fights can end at anytime in anyway. I have not been to a lot of Irish shows but the ones I have been to I left very happy. Lots of people share there thoughts on past events so it might be worth your while to look back at some of the old events posts.

Woody, do you know if the DVD was ever released of the XCC in Limerick? I'm mad to get a look at it!

I was at the UFC in Dublin and that was my first live MMA event. I have to say I really enjoyed it and bought expensive seats near the front. I think they were around the 250 euro mark (would that be right? seems astronomical now that I think about it). Anyway I found the wire mesh and band around the top of the cage really restricted my view so I found myself mainly looking at the big screen to compensate. The next UFC I intend to get a cheaper ticket further back where you would be higher up than the top of the cage and so perhaps have a better view looking down on the action. What seats did you have and how did you find the view?
I have also been at about 5 or 6 Muay Thai events throughout the years including a cracker of an event in Jurys down in Cork years ago. Always enjoyed those too, never left disappointed.

We also paid mad money for tickets but we had a great view.

Octagon was in the blue section, we set in the stage section. Was very happy with the view, could see just over the octagon plus all the ground action.
