    Right folks,

My settings have gone from Open => Moderate and it's taking an age to get into a game!

Could somebody please help me figure out how to get it back to Open. I've been onto Xbox support and Eircom an neither one can help.

I'm not very computer savvy so any and all advice would be greatfully appreciated!

I changed my Firewall settings to Low on the Eircom Web Configuration page and when I into the port codes that Xbox gave me on PortChecker and got nothing. Granted, I could have been putting the codes in wrong or something...

P.S - My computing terminology is not the may west so please keep things as simple as possible :)

    Thanks again!

If your with eircom and have a netopia router, type in your ip addy in the address bar, enter in your username and password, i think from there you go to advanced settings and from there you can adjust your nat .

hard reset your router with a toothpick.

Hold it in the reset hole for about 30 seconds. router reboots to factory settings opening your nat type.

How do I know what Router I have? I looked at the bottom of the box and saw something that said Zyxel

Reset the router about 4 times and no joy

Zyxel is a different make of router , netopia is the usual one with eircom . It is with eircom that you are with yeah ?

Just found this thread seems your not the only one , i didnt realise eircom had changed to Zxyel , its a sh!tty router , the old netopia router is far better .

One poster complained and they sent him out a motorola (i think) router which is the same as netopia

That Motorolla bit would make sense as I was told by Eircom to go to the Netopia/Motorolla page.

This is terrible confusing stuff altogether!

I had the same problem and only noticed the post now. The way I got it sorted was to go on to the Eircom Broadband support site and get online help from one of the lads working on it - I can't remember how exactly I changed it other than the first step was as Shammy said, going into the IP address and working from there.

Are you having the same problem X?

yeah this is going to not make sense because it didnt make sense for me . my router settings were reset there a few weeks back and my nat went from open to strict . now a mate of mine danger (cant remember boards name) got it fixed for me . i pretty much went to my network settings on the dashboard reset them to factory re input all my info about the network saved it and shut the box off for a minute ( unplug to be safe). now i cant figure how it worked because it was the router settings that where changed not the xbox ones but after i reset the xbox ones it went back to open  either way worked for me and it might work for you :) hope it does cuz nats a cuont when its anything but open

    Well done !!!!
I HAD a Zyxel aswell and couldn't get the Nat open so I put a NetGear router in now instead and I'm Open now.

The Zyxel just wouldn't play ball.

I'm very interested to know how you got yours Open on it ?
