    Hi there,
If someone gets the eventual cold sore, will their partner get it with time aswell?
I've heard that a person can pass the virus to someone else even when they have no visible sores, is that correct?
Anyone in here been through that?
    Thanks!

Do you mean the one on the lips? If they've ever kissed someone they've probably already been exposed. Kids can get them from being kissed by relatives.

The genital version isn't as common, and yes it can be passed on without visible sores, if it couldn't then it wouldn't have spread to the extent it has.

More likely to pass on with visible sores present but still possible without

If you are talking about HSV-2 - commonly referred to as Genital Herpes, then yes you can pas it on without a visible sore. A number of times over the course of year, it would be expected that a person will have "viral sharing", which in layman's terms basically means that the virus is present on the outer skin, in a non visional manner and can be passed onto a sexual partner.

HSV-1 (oral herpes), as bottle of smoke has stated, is not a big deal. the vast majority of people have the virus.

Yes, and please be careful avoid spreading it to your young children.
    Google "herpetic stomatitis". Ouch.

Estimted 90% of people have the virus in their system. I got cold sores when I was young but haven't had one in 8/9 years.

You probably already have it a chara, but if you don't, yes you could get it from the person

Ummm just to warn people about the oral version of herpes, I got it as a toddler from an aunt who had a coldsore and it used to appear on my cheek annually, stronger and stronger, eventually taking most of the sight from my left eye. I'm SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWLY getting it back (hurray!) but just be warned that kissing kids on the cheek "instead of the lips because i've a coldsore" isn't a great idea.

Also, if i'm seen walking into walls at any stage in the near future, assume it got the other eye too :D
