im still dumbfounded that even after all the media coverage of the main street and its litter problems, the council still have not got their finger out and put a few more bins along that stretch from the 147club up to the aib.... i think there isnt a bin to be seen for that length...must be about a mile of high street with alot of busy pedestrian traffic. its SHOCKING they havnt tried to do somthing to add some bins....

yet again i was walking down the main street the other day and seen empty coke cans and half drank milkshake's left on the power circuit thingys and windowsills etc.... its ridiculous !

youd think they would try to get this right with the festival ongoing.... surly it cant cost that much to put 3 or 4 bins along the street ?

You could put a thousand bins along that street and it would still be filthy, its the scum that inhabit the town more than the councils fault.

The problem with litter lies with local business not doing enough to keep the outside of there shops clean and tidy, the council and the tidy towns people do more than enough in trying to keep the town clean but unfortunately people you like don't respect the work that they do and blame them for the litter problem and more bins will not solve the problem.

Mcloughlin do you work for the council ??? :D i jest ....

anyway ... there is always responsibility by each individual to make sure they dont litter but the couincil has to give them bins to help them ! come on... its not that hard.

100% agree that it is the people who drop the litter that are solely at fault. Where has personal responsibity gone these days. Lazy ignorant people who won't walk 10 yards to a litter bin, or put it in their pocket until they find one.
