    Hi Guys,

As the title says; Why do I need GPS on for my barcode scanner app? Would just an internet connection not be enough?

    Regards

it pulls your location, and gives you the shops close to your current location with that product for sale and the price if possible too.

Cheers for the reply, Can that not be done just through internet though or by entering a postcode for example if one is living in the UK?

Why would you do that when you can use GPS? :)

It obviously makes sense to utilise the technology available.

your location within google maps is based on GPS/Location Services and hence are free, but you will use data loading the google maps and will be charged unless you have a data bundle within your price plan.
