    Hi All

Currently travelling and my brother booked internal flights for me on his credit card

Looking at the itenary, it says the cardholder must be on the flight? Does this mean I'm goosed?

Anyone remember when they flew with Bangkok airways did you have to produce your credit card?

    Any advise appreciated

    Thanks

They are a legit budget airline. Have flown with them a few times from Bangkok to Koi Samui. Good service and nice staff. I have found it easy to change flights (at no cost) when arriving early into BKK.
I didn't have to produce a cc last time, that I can remember.

I was asked for my CC the last time I flew with them. I remember because I was surprised to be asked. I've flown with them a good few times and was only asked for the CC once.
It's a nice airline and the staff are really good so I'd say you could talk your way out of it even if asked.

Flew with them earlier this year, nice airline.
I remember seeing the credit card thing on their website. So i didnt book there, i went to ebookers.com and booked through there. There wasnt any condition on ebookers about the credit card.

Never got asked for it in the airport

I've flown with them numerous times and i was never asked to show my credit card, even if they do I wouldn't worry about it they are not as strict in Thailand.

Flown with them a few times too and was asked for CC the last time, now that I think of it. I thought it was unusual but as I had it never thought too much of it. I would imagine its a policy they have and unless you contact them via their site asking if there is an alternative payment option then you may very well be snookered.

Great service btw, really would reccomend flying with them if you can. compared to Thai Airways they were about half the cost going to and from koh Samui for me.

I would check out their safety record before flying Bangkok Air.

I'm personally a bit hesitant to fly with these small carriers in Asia. I paid about €80 extra and flew with Thai Air to Samui.

Their safety record is that they've had two accidents in the last 20 years?

Does anyone know if its possible to just turn up at the various airports in Thailand and fly internally with this airline or do you have to book in advance?

Bangkok Air generally operate smaller aircrafts than the more budget carriers like AirAsia, so can sometimes be full on the more popular routes in advance. If you can get seats on the day of travel you'll probably pay a bit over the odds compared to if you book in advance.

I emailed Bangkok Airways & asked would it be possible to change the booking over to my own credit card. They advised this would be no problem and would refund my brothers credit card

I tried to call them to do this but keep getting an automated voicemail

They emailed me to send my credit card details over email & to do so in 2 separate emails for financial security. This sound legit?

It does. In the event that one email was intercepted there wouldn't be enough info to use your CC.

It sounds fine, but if you want to double check, AEREPS are the Irish GSA's (representatives) for Bangkok Air, so you could check it with them just to be sure. Their website is www.aereps.ie - tel 01 6319604. Enjoy your trip!
