but if you havent booked yet you should look at the Maritime in Bantry it was originally built as a boutique hotel with the other half rented as apartments but then due to the recession opened as a full hotel.

I met them at a wedding fair and by chance went onto their website and they were having a room sale for E50 so myself and the H2B headed down and it is gorgeous, the website doesnt do it justice. The entire wedding is held on the first floor so the drinks receptions is up there, its has a lovely unique bar and then a library room with a few quirky rooms here and there and its all open plan. There is also a piano, and a balcony. If you keep walking in one direction you get to the rooms and if you walk the other way you come to the ballroom. Its not for everyone the main colour in the room is red with gold touches. We are having an "old hollywood" themed wedding and this fits in perfectly.

A few cons though, again everything is on one floor, might get a little "stuck in one place" but then again no one else is going to disturb you for the night. It is def worth a look. We havent booked anything yet as we are not getting married till 2013, and we kinda thought Bantry was too far away from Cork City Cente for everyone to travel but after writing the above review I am tempted to have another look.

    HTH :)

CastleMartyr just simply looks unbelieveable, I have driven in there a few times as it is perfect for a wedding venue but is scary expensive, but if budget isnt an issue this would be amazing!!!
