Just wondering when i first booked my flight to Paris i didnt take the option to pay the 30 euro to bring a suitcase, because only going for 3 nights and thought could fit things into a school bag to carry onto the plane. Can i now someway pay the 30 and bring a suitcase or how do i go about it. The main idea for it is we are both young moneys tight and a friend suggested bringing items in a suitcase. I know you cant bring liquids in hand luggage so was thinking to bring drink in a suitcase to save money before going out over their. Also bringing some snacks to save overpaying money for crisps or something to have for a snack. Just wondering if you are allowed bring food and drink with you?

If you go in to "Manage my Booking" I think you can book and pay for a suitcase before flying. I don't think the likes of crisps are classed as foodstuffs, so no problem with those. As far as drink is concerned bottles may be liable to break due to the handling the suitcase is likely to get.

Ye i was thinking of bringing cans dont know if they would break. Also can you withdraw money from atm's over their using your laser card. Dont really want to carry to much cash around on me, was told their are alot of pick pocketers over their.

you will be able to use you laser card to withdraw money, you can also use it at the pay point so you dont have to carry any cash with you.

Don't bring drink over. Supermarkets have great selections and they're much cheaper than Irish outlets. You would be disgusted if you paid money to bring a suitcase of booze to France. If anything pay so you can bring booze BACK. Well, within the allowance of 20kg anyway...

As you can probably tell its my first time going away without a suitcase. I rane a.i.b. and they told me i can withdraw cash over their with a max charge of 6 euro so thats not too bad. Since you cant bring liquids would this mean i cant bring hair gel, shampoo, shaving foam if not is their a way around this. Was told you can buy a bag at the airport and put them into to bring on the plane.

Check out the Dublin airport website for guidelines on liquids in carry on luggage. Just make sure all containers are of 100ml or less capacity and stick them in a clear ziploc type bag. Don't wait til you get to the airport to sort it. If it's your first time flying you'll be too preoccupied, so doing that much at home is just one less thing to worry about.

The easiest thing to do is take the suitcase and, if you have liquids you don't need for the flight, pack them in there.

Only from ATMs with the Cirrus(?) symbol - check what symbol is on the back of your card.

The girl i spoke to from A.I.B. said could withdraw from any ATM. Do most hotels have safes if so il just bring over all my cash, just didnt want to be carrying big amounts of cash at around. I think for the sake of paying 30 euro for a suitcase when im on a budget just get the bag. Im only going for 3 days so dont need much. I presume deodrant is not a liquid so is ok. Usually shampoo and shower gel in hotel. I have electric shaver so only need hair gel and toothpaste. Also not for me but is normal makeup and woman accesories classed as liquids, just really need to sort out by today whether to bring a suitcase or not.

With very few exceptions, most things in your girlfriends make-up will be classed as liquid and/or paste.

However most items will be under 100ml, so can go in a 20 x 20cm clear plastic bag as hand luggage.

A spray deodorant over 100ml will be classed as a liquid so will not be allowed in hand luggage.

If you go in to Boots you will find most toiletries in less than 100ml containers and can go in hand luggage as long as you have them in the clear plastic bag.

You can take one plastic bag each. If you take only hand luggage, use the €30 to buy toiletries in Paris.

I thought you weren't charged to take out cash in other eurozone countries. Perhaps I am wrong...

Re your girlfriend's make up. I travel a lot and I don't put most of my make up in the clear bag and am never pulled up on it. I would put foundation and perhaps lipgloss in and that's it.

You should check the size of things like your hair gel, it might be under 100ml, I know my boyfriend's is exactly 100ml so that's ok. Buy a mini shampoo and mini deodorant in Boots.

You don't need a checked in suitcase for 3 days, you just need to plan ahead.

By the way, always check the prices of things in Paris, we were charged 8euro each for two large cokes in a cafe in a touristy area.
