My brother-in-law has been given a e machine 3260, we have re formatted the hard drive as it was corrupt and unstable, we loaded Windows XP back on and now we are stuck for drivers. Ive checked the e machine website but the model is not there, Ive fired off an email to support at emachine but nothing so far. Is there anywhere that I can download the drivers, or has anyone got a recovery disk that we could borrow?? Thanks

forget the middleman, and check out the hardware manufacturer sites. Who built the motherboard? what model is it, etc. If it's all Intel stuff just find out the model numbers and look them up.

Also you can google for driver detective, do a free account with them and instal an app, who will look for your drivers and give you some links to download. In some stage they were free of charge, I don't know lately though.. try it. Another thing will be to upgrade to windows 7, who will get the drivers for e-machine from windows update site

    Unknown Device

Give the above program a go, it will tell you what the unknown devices are, so you can download drivers individually from the manufacture or driver sites.

Alternatively as pointed out, find out the motherboard model and make your way to the manufacturers site.
