Lost Learner Permit, also Out Of Date

    Hi guys,

I lost my learner permit a while back, and now it is also out of date - not until now have I gotten the chance to sort this out.

I have rebooked my theory test for the end of the month - do I just go through the whole application process again (submit application for learner permit from scratch) or do I need to something on top of that?

    Thanks a million :)

Some more info to help - Learner permit was issued in 2007, took test and failed in 2008... and dont have the red slip to say I failed the test either... (lost a box in a house move)

Cancel your theory test. You do not need to start again. You can apply to renew to old learner permit. You need to call to a Garda station to report it lost to get the new one though. Then get lessons, get your test, get driving.

Thank you! I have cancelled the theory, and have requested 2 forms to be sent to me from the motor tax office.... great news I don't have to sit it again!

Do you know whether I still have to wait 6 months to take a practical test?

No you don't have to wait the six months. Apply when you feel you are ready. The waiting list is about two months.

No problem. Your third bit of good news is that you will win the Lotto before the end of the year. (Ok. That is not professional advice. But if you do win I want half.)
