So some kindly soul has decided to put tiny pinpricks into the sidewall of my tyre. Sadly this isnt the first time. Last time when I brought it to tyre place they found up to 10 holes and they reckon it was a dart that did it. Anyway I transgress. . . .As the tyres are due to be changed anyway I was wondering was there anything I can coat the side walls, inside of the new tyres before they go on,to help prevent this.

Well to be fair I know that for trucks and jeeps there are different levels of thickness available on a tyre sidewall for use on tough terrain, e.g. building sites. May not be available in car tyres though.

would firing a can of tyre weld into them not help?
i would imagine the extra (altho temporary) layer might help some what.

the tyreweld did the trick for the right hand side but the left has just 1 hole left.
I was just hoping there was something that I could put in the new tyres to stop this fooker ruining a new set of tyres.

Won't stop someone sticking a dart or similar through them ;)

hmm you could always try "run flat foam" and fill the tyres.
dunno how applicable it would be for this exactly tho.(good/bad/draw backs)
    just another idea

    Not Your Ornery Onager

Are you parked illegally when this happens? Old geezer near where I used live went on a crusade stabbing every tyre that was on a footpath. He did a load of cars over an extended period of time before he was caught. He also ranged far and wide from his own home.

Mate of mine parked up a bait car, and camoflaged two tinfoil contacts separated by bin liner on the sidewall of each tyre. He ran wires to his house and connected then to the power supply of a radio turned up to the max so that it would blare when the foil plates were connected by the puncturing implement.

One night, the radio blared; mate legged it outside; tyres were hissing; geezer was walking away from the car. He dropped an awl. Cops came, but apparently couldn't prosecute as he wasn't actually seen interfering with the tyres. His cards were marked though, and no more tyres were punctured after that....

    Not your ornery onager

thanks for your thought.but if you or anyone else thinks I am gonna up sticks from where I live because of 1 scumbag they really need to think again.

Yes. knowing who it is is one thing, (and yes I am pretty sure I know who it is) but as the Gardai said after I reported it, they can do sod all without proof.

Take one scumbag. Insert one .50 caliber round and your left with little bits of said scumbag!:D * Problem solved

Op. Get some sort of a CCTV camera set up. Either make it really obvious to put them off coming around or else hide it and get them on video interfering with your car. Even a dummy CCTV might work..
Still I think the rifle out the top window works best!!

Seriously don't shoot them. It would be a waste of a good bullet

Install a PIR security light on your property.
