I'm a PAYE individual. If I have a paper loss on shares at the end of 2010 on shares that I bought in 2010 can I net the loss against tax paid during 2010 - perhaps be due a tax refund?

    Thanks
    Tricky

If you didnt dispose of the shares there is no loss in terms of Capital Gains Tax

And even if you do sell them and make a real loss you cannot set that loss against income; only against capital gains of this year or future years.
