I seen this film the other night. It`s really good, i never expected it to be. In fact I was in two minds whether to watch it or not I usually like to watch scifi but this is one of those movies you shouldn't miss!!
    I cant recommend this enough:)

Yeah i quite enjoyed this one, really loved the look of it and the setting was outstanding.

Wasnt sure i felt enough empathy with the girl though in order to make it a real stand-out, but that may just have been me.

    Just back from this now.

Really liked it and would echo what was said about the set. I want to visit there some day. Beautiful and bleak all in one.

Thought the acting was very good all round, and the pace was almost perfect.

    Highly recommend it.

Very haunting film, definitely extremely rich in atmosphere. The setting, the cold, the sense of uneasiness really gets under your skin. The performances are all excellent too. I would agree that it was quite a 'cold' film, in that perhaps enough time wasn't spent on the humanity of the community as opposed to the violent instincts. Still, that's a small complaint, and overall an impressively grim yet compelling film.

I skim read it and thought this was a scifi movie :) kept waiting for aliens to show up.

Not too bad, in the end.

I saw it a couple of weeks ago and really enjoyed it, even though it was pretty bleak. There is a lot of talk about Jennifer Lawrence but I thought that John Hawkes' was the standout performance of the film. I'd like to see Down To The Bone, Debra Granik's first film. Has anyone seen it?
