Rented a VW Polo TDI, for 400 km I thought the fuel gauge was defective as it refused to drop.
And this was autobahn driving between 120 and 140 km/h.
The gauge finally dropped a minute amount and when filling up after 550 km/h the tank took 15 litres.
    That equals 2.73 liters/100 km!
Was told the car will do well over a thousand km on a single tank.
What can I say but Priuses are for suckers!

Well I guess the guy before me filled it up to the top while I only filled it till it clicked off once at the pump, but who would go to the trouble of overfilling a rental?

Find that hard to believe. I saw Fifth Gear did a similar test with a VW Polo Bluemotion around the Home County's, and the results were not that promising!
