    Hi all,

Buddy of mine has Digiweb satellite - and having issues with Powerline Adapters (Comtrend 200 mbps).

Satellite modem is installed in his attic, hooked up to wireless router. Problem is - wifi signal is too poor on ground floor as a result.

Hooked powerline adapters - and brought wireless router down to ground floor. Works fine for about a day - then the adapters need a reset.

Nothing wrong with adapters - as I have used same in my house (DSL).
Anybody have experience satellite bb and adapters??

    Cheers,
    Keith.

Since the adapters need a reset, it has nothing to do with the broadband connection. Ethernet over power adapters have many problems that can occur in one house but not another. Looks like he's going to be one of those people that this just won't work for.

He needs to run an Ethernet cable down from the sat modem to the router.

    Run a cable.

    Powerline adaptors are
    a) Rubbish & over sold. Esp. Comtrend. Easily disrupted by PSUs, chargers, CFL lights.
    b) create huge RF interference. They may be technically illegal. They do cheat the approvals system by only testing one and not a pair carrying data.
