    :confused::confused::confused:

    Hi all,

    I am taking a short FETAC level 6 course on child psychology and have a project to complete on same. I'm having difficulty trying to figure out what exactly I should be including in it. It is a research study on a child and involves examining child development . However we are asked to relate it to two theoretical perspectives in child psychology. It all seems a bit airy fairy to me at the moment and the more i read the more confused i get. Just wondering has anyone done a similar course or if anyone could recommend a good book for me to use. I have never studied psychology before and finding the whole area really confusing! :(

    Any help/advice would be really appreciated.
    Thanks.

    No I havent. But this looks fairly straightforward. Read Piaget or Winnicot or Klein. Absorb and process it. See how it applies or does not apply to the chld you are observing.

    What textbooks do you have? If you get something like Santrock's Child Development and pick a couple of developmental perspectives. Obvious examples would be Piaget's cognitive stages and Kohlberg's moral stages. The try to assess where the child is at in respect of such stages I imagine.

    Hi there! Try and focus your assignment on one of the following areas to make it specific:
    • language development
    • Social skills
    • sensori-motor skills
    • attachement
    Each of these would have tons of relevant theories and infomation. Let us know if you need more help...

    i just want to borrow it for a day or two to have an idea what include in my project and how it should look what should be first what last etc. i did it for my level fetac 5 and it helped me a lot. i did it all by myself i didn't copy anybody's work i just read the projects , saw how it was supposed to look and did it myself. what is the point of copying somebody's else work ? you don't learn anything then

    Hi. maybe anyone of you finish chil psychology course or module an can help me a little bit. i am stuck on the question where i have to describe and evaluate a range of factors which impact on the psychological development of the children in the setting.

    i really don't know what should i write there :/ can somebody help me please?

    I'm also stuck with another question where i have to analyse the barriers to effective observation studies – in terms of attitudes, beliefs and assumptions.

    thank you
