That might not be weather related, but the other story linked on that same page is - Mother and child die in landslide in Tuscany.

Up to 300mm of rain fell yesterday in Orto di Donna (below), with many other totals of 200mm in the region (the black line is the accumulation, on the right hand axis). From here.

heres an aerial shot of that sinkhole. Imagine leaving the house to get into your vehicle and theres a big bloody hole in ground???

hi hope im in the right place here but last night i had a thought regarding the sink holes that are popping up every where.

Is it possible that the super collider Particle accelerator which creates microscopic black holes be the cause of the sink hole's?

if a microscopic black hole opens for a micro-second it can suck matter in and then it closes soon after.

what are your thoughts on this??

I think that if that happened, there would be a pretty big implosion if that happened.

depending on the size it wouldn't be that big perhaps only a small hole like the sink hole's you are seeing right now

saying that its only a matter of time

    cheers for the reply

Well, for one thing I dont think the LHC has even created any black holes yet and secondly, how would something in Geneva affect Guatamala thousands of km away??

    No!

I have no idea, but Id say anything is possible. I lean more toward the daily suctioning and ploughing and pulling at the earths resources. Water, oil ,gas ,minerals.

heres a link to see the increase in sinkholes.

No really weather related, but doesn't the book of revelation mention something about the ground opening and things coming up, and with 2012 approaching and all that, who knows:confused:
    :D

the microscopic black holes have been created and was published a few months ago. since they are shooting particials which are traveling at the speed of light and time travel and space time are a factor in it.

The book of revelation didnt mention the the world ending in 2012 or any other year. And sinkholes arent a sign from god either . . .

My garage is built on serious foundations with a faraday cage around it. I hope the Delorean will be ok. Otherwise I'll never get back.

Sorry I didn't mean to be facetious.... The particle accelerator is not causing sink holes. I'm afraid it's due to more boring as stuff like deep soil/strata erosion and water tables etc. If it was an anti-matter versus matter collision the sink holes would be bigger brighter and louder :). Along win the fact these mini-black holes would have met + matter long long before.

Right back to the weather! So there's a storm a brewing......... :)

from the above link it seems to me that it says there is a sinkhole somewhere in dublin, anyone know anything about this?

No they haven't, the LHC hasn't produced any black holes and the paper you were reffering to only showed they were possible to create.

That link just shows the amount of people searching for the term 'sinkhole' on google, nothing to do with the amount of them or where they've been

The big increase this year is obviously down to people searching for the well publicised one in Guatemala

A lot of sinkholes are indeed created by man made tunnels 10's of miles long like the particle accelerators.

    Sewage tunnels!! :D

Pipes burst and/or overwhelmed by floodwaters washing away earth underground creating caverns which eventually collapse. Theres also natural varieties created by underground streams etc. But hey, don't let the simple answer get in the way of a good conspiracy theory :D
