    Hi guys,

Recently got myself a new PS2 (have a PS3 already :)) to catch up on my old gaming catalog but I've found when hooked up to my phillips tv (40PFL9705H/12 LED) I've found it to be very laggy. Does anyone know if there is anything that can be done to bring the TV up to speed?

    Cheers!

Try and turn off all the picture processing options, also use game mode if your TV has one.

Check if there's a 'Game' mode option. HD TVs sometimes have in built upscalers in the TV to make the picture much clearer but it adds a few milliseconds of lag. Fine for TV, video and slower games but for twitch games it's a pain. The Game mode turns off the upscaler and reduces lag.

a lot of the latest release tvs have horrible input lag

with all the processing they are doing, even with game mode some are still crap

    50ms is noticble to me

trying to buy a tv for gaming is a complete nightmare lately

Samsung have traditionally been very good with excellent game modes. Not sure if they are still like that.

I have a Samsung LCD with input lag only 14ms!

I wonder if you are connecting with HDMI, would using vga and separate sound improve performance?

not much use for a ps3

i would be confident you have an older generation samsung which gives u low input lag
