AFAIK the only true mead commercially available in Ireland is Rabbit's Foot, a Californian one which comes in dry and sweet versions. Last place I saw it was Lilac Wines in Fairview, Dublin.

Bunratty "Mead" is readily available in the likes of Celtic Whiskey and lots of touristy shops. It's a pyment: wine flavoured with honey. Much heavier and sweeter than full mead.
