Ok folks im abit of a novice here, so go easy.Ill try make this as clear as possible.

In May i Bought Neon 37" Widescreen LCD/DVD Combi TV (manufactured by Cello) with Built-in Freeview tuner with access to over 40 TV channels (no subscription required)

Since then i have had No Sky Box, or anything else hooked up to it, apart from the Aerial, which i pick up RTE,TV3 AND TG4.

I was getting BBC,ITV,Channel 4 and Channel 5 all in perfectly until around Thursday, but with the bad weather, they werent coming in..I live in Wexford By the way.

So on Sunday they still havnt been coming in(On the TV Guide, it just said no information beside each Station) so i got this bright idea to rescan the tele again in hope they would come back in.

Now they arent even picking them up again?? All that is coming in on the AV Tunner is the Irish stations which is normal and like before, but on the DTV its not picking up the English stations like before.

My country Selection is UK as there is no selection for Ireland.

My Question is , Do people think its likely that i will get the BBC'S and my other English Channels back in again like before, or have i lost them for good??

You simply need your aerial serviced.
The digital channels from presely wales are as good today as last week or last year.
Rain doesn't affect the uk reception that much, but water getting into an old unsealed cable of box on the aerial would.
Wind can also damage the ariel eg something hitting it.

Also if your tv is mpeg 2 only,it should be mpeg4 for to receive the irish channels.
Unfortunately digital reception of RTE is difficult due top the ch 45 issue in wexford, though forth mtn may now be on and suir valley is also receivable in parts of wexford.

If your tv is mpeg 2 only, you can under the sale of goods act bring it back because it is unfit to receive irish tv in 2012.

    I'm sending you a pm

So Basically i can get them Back???

    It is possible??

Hopefully yes, though you may have to spend a bit of money on your aeril,it's worth it though in most cases.

I've sent you a private message - read it :)

In the meantime,do a full digital retune on your tv in case some stray channels from another transmitter temporarally over wrote your uk digital.

Also remember if you bought the tv in Ireland, the sale of goods act allows you to return it if it's mpeg 2 as it won't receive the irish channels after 2012 and therfore is not fit for purpose.

I'm away from the internet for a while now so won't reply further untill later.

Thanx again for your Help mate, and i appreciate the PM..

Tried rescanning again but No joy..

When i did have them in, and the weather was Bad, i wouldnt be able to pick up a signal, and they wouldnt come in..

So im Hoping when the weather calms down, that they might come back in..Clutching at straws, yes i know..

That sounds like a misalligned aerial if you had wet weather break up.
Weather shouldn't stop you receiving them.
The fact you have had nothing for the past few days probably means something at the aerial has blown.

Signal is normal up here in North wexford,so you shouldn't be having problems down there.

My TV3,RTE AND TG4 all come in fine.

We dont get BBC or ITV through our Aerial in any other tele in the house..Its just through this new Tele i have had since May, that i have been able to pick it up..

So it must be something to do with the signal, and the Tele not been able to find it..

Ah so you are another one with the ch 45 problem.

If you are getting uk freeview in on the back of your mt leinster aerial, then you must have very strong presely wales reception in the area.
A group b aerial with an amp will get it near perfect for you.
Combine that with an aerial pointed to forth mtn or suir valley and you will have most of the 60 or so UK tv channels for free and you will get the irish digital channels aswell.

I suspect your tv is mpeg 2 only so you can bring it back and get them to give you your full money back [sale of goods act]
Can you post the model number of the tv so we can check?

The cost of a simple aerial set up for you for digital might be in or about 200 Euro's or slightly north of there.

Well worth it as you will have the irish channels and the uk channels all on the one epg and with programme info etc and it's once off.
You have the option to cable it in to other rooms too either now or at a later stage.

Dont have the money at the moment to be get a new aerial..
